Start slots are released in two waves, and they go fast.
The pre-release, with half of the spots, dropped on Friday, February 27 and sold out the same weekend. Now we’re gearing up for the main release on Sunday, March 15 at 15:00. Set your alarm.

SUPPORT FOR THE NATIONAL PARK AND NATURE RESERVE
The entry fee also helps cover costs paid to the County Administrative Board for the use of trails and facilities, as well as contributing to continued trail development in Skuleskogen National Park and the Skuleberget Nature Reserve.
CANCELLATION PROTECTION & ACCIDENT INSURANCE
When registering, you can choose to add insurance from Startklar. You can select either Startklar (155 SEK) or Startklar Plus (275 SEK). With Startklar, you get cancellation protection in case of illness, injury, or pregnancy, verified with a doctor’s certificate or equivalent, and it covers all events in Sweden for one year. Can I cancel my race entry?
If you add cancellation protection and accident insurance, you can cancel in case of illness, injury, or pregnancy with a doctor’s certificate. A popular option is Startklar (155 SEK) or Startklar Plus (275 SEK), which covers all events in Sweden for one year. More info: Get Startklar >>
If you need to activate your insurance, you can file a claim in two ways:
- Email: skada@startklar.nu . Attach your registration receipt and a doctor’s certificate or equivalent.
- Call Svedea directly at +46 771 160 199 and state that you have a Startklar insurance policy.
Can I sell or transfer my start slot to someone else?
Yes, absolutely!
You decide yourself what to sell your start slot for and who covers the 100 SEK service fee. Feel free to post your slot in the High Coast Trail Runners Facebook group >>. This is also where we direct people looking to buy entries, so scroll through the feed, there might already be someone looking for a spot.
- Change participant
Go to your order confirmation/receipt and click “change participant.” Replace your details with those of the person taking over your start slot.

- Service fee
As we need to update our systems, a service fee of 100 SEK applies. Pay via Swish to 1231073378 and include both your name and the new participant’s name. Example:
(Your name) to (new participant’s name)
Can I defer my start slot to next year?
No. However, you can transfer or sell your start slot to someone else, or add cancellation protection which allows you to cancel in case of illness, injury, or pregnancy.
Can I change distance?
No, you cannot switch between distances. As each race has a participant cap set by permits and the races always sell out, we’re unable to move participants between distances.
TWO-DAY CHALLENGE
We’ve had quite a few requests from people wanting to run both Friday and Saturday. And while it sounds pretty wild, it’s absolutely possible. Here’s how it works: sign up for the Original 45K, then send us an email at info@friluftsbyn.se and we’ll sort you out with a personal code that gives you 20% off any Friday race.
